How to Troubleshooting Slow Streamyx Connection
When you facing slow Internet connection with Streamyx, please do the following before you call TM NET or other technical guys.
Do a speed test @ http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/

Click Step 1 to install JRE, otherwise, go to Step 2 and choose the nearest server, your streamyx package and click Start Test

When you totally cannot connect to Internet
Firstly, please make sure you do not have any overdue bill. :-)

  • Try to restart your modem/router
  • Restart your computer
  • Normally the Internet connection will become better after restart.

If the above actions still cannot bring you online, please follow the instruction below

  1. Bypass splitter/ micro filter/ fax machine/ lightning protector
  2. Stand alone connection, from wall socket to modem only ( means no parallel line, no splitter, no hub )
  3. Flush DNS
  4. For Windows 98 / ME
  • Click on Start button, go to run
  • Type winipcfg and then click OK
  • Select your network card name from the adapter drop=down menu
  • Click on Release button
  • The IP address should display 0.0.0.0
  • Then click Renew All and click OK to close the window
  • For Windows 2000/XP
  • Click on Start button, go to run
  • Type command, click OK
  • Type in ipconfig/flushdns then press Enter
  • Make sure the result is Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache
  • Type exit and press Enter to close the window
  • For Windows Vista
  • Click on the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the button left corner of the screen
  • Click All Programs, click Accessories, right click on Command Prompt
  • Select Run As Administrator In command window type in ipconfig/flushdns
  • Press Enter
  • You should able to see Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache
  • For Mac OSX
  • Double click on Macintosh HD
  • Click on Applications, followed by Utilities
  • Locate Terminal.app Double click it
  • A new Terminal will open, type ipconfig at the command prompt
  • Type lookupd-flushcache to flush DNS
  • Switch off the modem, unplug/ re-plug all cables, wait for 5 to 10 minutes before switching on the modem
  • Configure DNS as below
  • Preferred DNS Server: 202.188.0.133

Alternative DNS Server : 202.188.1.5

  1. Clear Temporary Files, Delete Cookies and Delete Files under Internet Options

Reboot computer and modem/router

If you still fail to connect to Internet, the final step is call TM NET. ?
